Our Process

The first step toward planning your perfect landscape is to contact the Hamilton Design Group and schedule an on-site consultation (note: An initial consultation fee of $100 will apply for project sites in excess of 20 miles from San Diego County). Here we will conduct a brief site analysis evaluating your sites potentials and constraints, listen to your project needs and make suggestions on what other elements could be introduced into the landscape that would greatly enhance your outdoor living space and experiences. landscape-plan-design-processDuring this initial consultation we will discuss your projects time frame, budget, and potential fees for completing the design. Prior to us meeting it is helpful if you gather any inspirational imagery/garden design pictures, and any other relevant information such as: Existing Site Plans/Architectural Drawings, and HOA (Home Owners Association) Guidelines if applicable.

Upon your acceptance of the design proposal and we have collected the retainer fee, the next step is to come back out to your site to measure your property and inventory existing site features which will be used to develop an accurately scaled base plan.  From there we begin to spatially layout the hardscape elements being incorporated, consider alternative designs, and gather images (plants, materials, colors, design features, etc).

Design Process
Once we develop the preliminary design we will hold a series of scheduled meetings where we present to you developing concepts, alternatives, and photos while getting feedback and comments from you. We will also review cost options to give you a rough estimate of where we are headed with the cost of construction. Once the plan is finalized we will collect the remainder of our design fees, and provide you with several copies of the finished plan.

Scalable Plan
The end result is an easy to read scaled landscape plan which will show pool/spa design, hardscape layout, planting, lighting, and any other custom features required which can be used to build from.

Build / Installation
The Hamilton Design Group has also developed a team of reliable and reputable landscape and pool contractors who install our projects. Once your plan is complete, you will have access to this network of professionals and we can provide you with the most appropriate contractor for your project. These licensed and insured contractors will provide you with a free itemized break down of costs for each design component of your project.  These team members are focused, hard working craftsmen that share the same values as us and pride themselves on quality and attention to detail. If you already have a contractor in mind we would be more than happy to collaborate with them.
